Sutter Buttes near Yuba City, CA.m2t Video

Sutter Buttes are located between Yuba City and Colusa on Hwy 20 between I-5 and Hwy 99. These features are as high as 2000 feet despite my comments in the video.

The town of Sutter is located at the Southeast corner of the remains of this ancient volcano (details on WIKI) and provides access through the middle of the buttes along Pass Road to provide some of the views shown in this video.

The overhead view of the buttes as seen on Google Earth clearly shows the volcanic origin of these formations.

Mt. Lassen, which is an active volcano, can sometimes be seen in the distance from this area by looking north and slightly east of this location.

The Sutter Buttes can be circumnavigated using South, West, and North Butte roads. I believe that most, if not all of the land here is privately held.

Thank you for sharing...I really miss Yuba City, it was my childhood place where I grew up and lived most of my life with my families. I hope to revisit it one day. It's still as beautiful as it is? when I left the town.
